Pretty in Peach Boho Styled Fashion Shoot | Minneapolis Senior Photographer
I loved this pretty boho styled fashion shoot soooo much! Kayla and her mom Katie, came to me looking for a photographer to add some natural, girl-next-door photos to Kayla’s model portfolio. I wanted to do something fashion-forward, but specifically for Kayla’s age since many of the images in her book are more glamorous and make her look a lot older. She’s a gorgeous girl – fresh faced, tall, with great features.
I took inspiration from the latest Anthropologie
catalog and Nylon magazine
to convey the spirit of teen fashion at the moment and narrowed the style of the shoot down to two main looks. I went shopping at Love Culture
to find outfits and jewelry to coordinate with the “pretty in peach” boho theme that I had selected. I had just returned from a trip to Austin a few weeks ago and picked up a fabulous pair of cowgirl boots and wanted to incorporate them into the shoot – luckily they just fit Kayla so we were able to use them to complete the outfit. Lastly, I asked Crystal of Double Take Makeup Artistry
if she would work with us to create the makeup and hair styles to go along with the plan. She was great to work with and really brought the final touches to the whole look.
Here’s a look at some of the clothing and jewelry we selected from
We added in some long blonde tipped hair extensions into Kayla’s long reddish-brown hair to give her a bit of an ombre look and the ubiquitous headband for the perfect boho look.
Kayla’s before and after photos
For the second look, I wanted something a bit more graphic and modern with bright pops of color. Crystal put a top knot into Kayla’s hair and really pumped up her makeup with a bright peach blush used on her eyelids and lips to give a strong graphic presence. With Kayla’s light blue eyes, this was a stunning combo!
I loI and such a great time working with Kayla and Crystal and I think these looks will really round-out Kayla’s model portfolio. I loved how every bit of this shoot turned out and am planning to use some of these images in my Senior Magazine which will be coming out soon!
