Today I have a real treat for you, which comes in the form of some fun child photography ideas of spunky Miss Emily Baccoli. You can tell from the pictures that she is both adorable and quirky – exactly my kind of girl!
Her mom, Katie, describes her as a “goofy stubborn girl who is very insistent on what she wants to do – BUT she can always be bribed with M&Ms or chocolates!!” I always love a good challenge (and a little chocolate never hurt), so away we went.
Speaking of parents, Katie did a really fabulous job choosing outfits and props for our child photography session. She came with all kids of cute dresses and jackets, jewelry, boots, sweaters and brought some of Emily’s favorite dolls and toys.
With Emily’s session, we were trying to match photos of her two brothers which were taken years ago by another photographer. We needed to try for the same look and feel so they could all be framed together. Although we were limited a bit with some options – it was a great chance to be creative with studio lighting and posing to try to recreate the overall style but with Emily’s own authentic flair 🙂
We had just a small window of time before we lost Emily’s will to be photographed. But we made the most of it and actually came away with some of the best photos from the shoot. Note to Moms: remember the “smiling” photos aren’t always the most authentic photos of your child! At the end of the session, we let Emily direct the shoot – she picked her own outfit, the backdrop and the props and we just let her play. You can see the results at the end. Very cute.
Okay, moving on to what you’ve been waiting for. For your viewing pleasure, pictures of little Miss Emily Baccoli!
