Minneapolis Boudoir Photography Shoot-Out
Hi! Remember the Minneapolis boudoir photography shoot-out contest
held a few months ago? We had a great turnout of applicants and selected our top models to take-part in a day-long photography studio shoot-out at Studio Starfish.
It recently came to fruition and with really awesome results. I had a great time doing the boudoir shoot-out last month in partnership with Noah’s Ark Photography, Four Girls Glamour, and Tim Ho Photo.
We had a blast setting up in my studio which was barely big enough for all of us, but we made the most of it. We created two sets and used the areas around the outside of the studio as well. Our first boudoir photography set was made to look just like a lovely French bedroom – complete with chandelier. The second set (which we changed around a little) resembled a pretty dressing room. Of course, outside, sky’s the limit – we used the graffiti tunnel, railroad tracks, brick buildings, streets and grassy areas just behind my studio to create some interesting backgrounds – we were even able to capture a few while the trains rolled by!
Unfortunately, there was just a small glitch to the day – our makeup/hair stylist came down with pinkeye just before the shoot, so she had to cancel which put us in a tiny bit of a bind. Luckily, Liz from Four Girls Glamour and I both have a background in makeup application and we were able to pull it together with the help of our models. I think we came up with some pretty darn amazing looks for our models, Danielle A., Danielle L., and Lauren!
I am so proud of these girls – they really brought it and they looked amazing I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. I look forward to doing this again next year!
